This highly popular cruise aboard the historic timber ferry, the M.V. Mudjimba, has been operating on the Sunshine Coast from the Mooloolaba Wharf for 26 years
We are a small, family run business who takes great pride in giving our passengers an unforgettable, family-friendly and affordable experience. Our cruise is considered the “must do” item for anyone visiting the Sunshine Coast.
Built in 1963 and originally called the ‘John McMaster’, the M.V. Mudjimba is a historic timber boat that began it’s working life as a Brisbane Cross River Ferry. In 1990, the vessel was taken out of service by the Brisbane City Council and sold. It was brought to Mooloolaba by ocean where she spent many months being renovated and modified, before being reassigned later that year as a cruise vessel, operating from The Mooloolaba Wharf.
The M.V. Mudjimba has been taking passengers around the Mooloola River and surrounding waterways now for 26 years.
Built of oak planking on the hull and bunya pine above the waterline for flexibility, she has been lovingly restored and maintained, and is the only timber ferry of its kind still in operation on the Sunshine Coast.
A genuine Mooloolaba icon, the M.V. Mudjimba is without doubt the longest operating cruise boat on the Sunshine Coast.
We have the friendliest and most knowledgeable skippers of any cruise boat operating in Mooloolaba. You won’t find a more experienced crew on any other cruise in Mooloolaba.
